The design finally stops apologising

OnePlus spent two generations chasing a look; this one is confident about it.

• Crystal Shield super-ceramic glass on the front, a flat frame that sits well in one hand despite the 6.82-inch panel.
• IP69 rating: we ran it under a tap and left it on a damp windowsill through a Mumbai monsoon week with no drama.
• No 3.5mm jack, no microSD, no FM radio. If you still use wired earphones on the local train, plan around it.

Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 runs cool, for once

Thermals are the reason to pick this over an iQOO 13 or last year's OnePlus 13, and it's where the OnePlus 14 earns its place as a Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 phone.

• Our sustained-load test, 30 minutes of BGMI at 90fps in a 34°C room, ended with the phone warm at the camera bump and no frame collapse we could feel.
• The 144Hz LTPO AMOLED held steady through the session; peak brightness stayed legible in direct afternoon sun.
• 12GB RAM and 256GB storage on the variant we tested. UFS-class storage kept app cold-starts quick after a week of heavy use.

The OnePlus 14 is the rare ₹60k flagship that doesn't flinch when you actually use it hard in an Indian summer.

The camera is good. The tuning is greedy.

The hardware is honest; the Hasselblad processing is not always.

• 50MP main with OIS shoots clean, detailed daylight frames. Our blind comparison across 40 shots against the OnePlus 13 favoured the 14 for shadow detail more often than not.
• The catch: default tuning pushes saturation and contrast harder than the scene deserves. Skies go too blue, reds glow. You'll want to dial it back.
• 4K at 30fps is the ceiling on the sheet we verified. Fine for most, short of what the price hints at.

Battery: the silicon-carbon payoff

• 65W AIRVOOC wireless and 10W reverse wired charging are here too, rare at this price.

Software: OxygenOS grows up, keeps one bad habit

OxygenOS 16 on Android is fast and clean, then interrupts itself.

• The gestures, animations and everyday flow are among the smoothest at this price. No stutter across a week.
• The bad habit: promotional notifications and app-install nudges out of the box. You can disable them, but a ₹60k phone shouldn't ship with them on.
• OnePlus's recent update cadence is solid; check the current commitment before you buy, as terms shift by market.

The OnePlus 14 is the flagship to beat under ₹70,000 if thermals and battery matter more to you than a spotless camera pipeline. It stays cool, it lasts, it charges fast. Trim the promo notifications and the greedy photo tuning, and you have one of the easiest recommendations of the year. Coming from a OnePlus 13, the battery and thermal gains justify the jump; coming from anything older, it's a clear yes.
