OnePlus 15 vs OnePlus 13: Upgrade or Keep the 13?

The OnePlus 15 wins on battery and speed, the OnePlus 13 on screen, zoom camera and price. Here is who should pay the ₹28,000 difference.

Nerdspec comparison card: OnePlus 15 at ₹85,999 versus OnePlus 13 at ₹59,325

For most buyers weighing the OnePlus 15 vs OnePlus 13, the decision comes down to battery against screen and camera. The OnePlus 15 brings a 7,300mAh battery, a 165Hz display and the faster Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The OnePlus 13 keeps a sharper 1440p panel, bigger camera sensors and Hasselblad colour tuning. On 30 September 2026 the OnePlus 15 cost ₹85,999 on Amazon.in and a new OnePlus 13 cost ₹57,994 at Croma (both 12GB+256GB). If you already own a 13, keep it. If you are buying new and end most days hunting for a charger, pay for the 15.

Nerdspec has not tested either phone. This comparison works from the official spec sheets, prices we checked at Indian retailers on 30 September 2026, and measurements published by Bandicoot Lab (June 2026) and 91mobiles, credited where they appear.

OnePlus 15 vs OnePlus 13: the quick verdict

Six things separate these phones. Here is who wins each one.

  • Battery and charging: OnePlus 15. 7,300mAh against 6,000mAh, 120W wired against 100W, and Bandicoot Lab measured 46.1 hours of video playback against 29.4.
  • Display: OnePlus 13. 510 PPI against 450, and colour that Bandicoot Lab found closer to reference. The 15 answers with 165Hz and brighter HDR peaks.
  • Camera: OnePlus 13, mostly because of its telephoto. The 15 is the one to have if you shoot 4K at 120fps.
  • Performance: OnePlus 15. About 20 percent ahead in Geekbench 6 single-core and 22 percent in multi-core, per Bandicoot Lab.
  • Software support: OnePlus 15, by one extra major Android version.
  • Value: OnePlus 13, about ₹28,000 cheaper at the listings we checked, provided you are willing to chase down stock.

Overall, the OnePlus 15 is the better phone and the OnePlus 13 is the better deal. The 15 now costs ₹13,000 more than it did at launch, while the 13 sells well under its own launch price, so the gap between them is wide.

Price in India right now: what each phone actually costs

All prices are for the 12GB+256GB variant, checked on 30 September 2026. They change often, and the OnePlus 13's changes most.

  • OnePlus 15: ₹85,999 at Amazon.in. The Sand Storm listing was in stock, sold by a third-party seller and fulfilled by Amazon. OnePlus's own India store sells the same phone at the same price. Smartprix's price tracker showed ₹83,990 as its lowest price the same day.
  • OnePlus 13: ₹57,994 at Croma. That is against an MRP of ₹72,999, and Croma shows a Connect to Store button rather than online delivery, so check your nearest branch. The Flipkart listing that carried it at ₹59,325 is out of stock on every pincode we tried, and OnePlus has dropped the 13 from its own India store, though the old product page still advertises From ₹69,999. Smartprix tracks this variant at ₹54,901 and also marks it out of stock. Buying a 13 new now means hunting a stockist, not adding to cart.
  • OnePlus 13s (a different, smaller phone): ₹54,999 at Amazon.in, in stock in Green Silk.

The OnePlus 15 has not held its launch price. It went on sale in India at ₹72,999, rose to ₹77,999 on 1 May 2026 according to Smartprix, and had reached ₹85,999 by June after a second increase, as Notebookcheck reported. OnePlus's own India page for the 13 still shows its launch price of ₹69,999, which no retailer we checked was charging.

Display: the OnePlus 13 is sharper, the OnePlus 15 is faster

The OnePlus 13 uses a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED at 1440 x 3168 pixels, about 510 PPI, refreshing at up to 120Hz. The OnePlus 15 moves to a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED at 1272 x 2772, about 450 PPI, and raises the ceiling to 165Hz.

The resolution cut is real but modest at phone distance; colour is the bigger point. Bandicoot Lab found the 13's colours stayed closer to the reference standard, while the 15 showed more visible drift. The 15 does get brighter: Bandicoot Lab measured an HDR peak of 1,958 nits against 1,638 nits on the 13, while manual brightness was nearly level at 798 and 785 nits.

The 165Hz mode pays off in games that can run that fast and in scrolling. If you do not play fast shooters, the 13's 120Hz is not a handicap, and its sharper, more accurate panel is the one we would rather read and watch on.

Camera: bigger sensors and Hasselblad tuning on the 13, 4K 120fps on the 15

Both phones carry three 50MP rear cameras, so the megapixel count tells you nothing. Sensor size does. GSMArena lists the OnePlus 13's main sensor at 1/1.43 inch with an f/1.6 lens, against 1/1.56 inch and f/1.8 on the 15. The gap is widest on the telephoto: 1/1.95 inch at 3x on the 13, against 1/2.76 inch at 3.5x on the 15.

The OnePlus 13 is also the only one of the two with Hasselblad colour calibration. The OnePlus 15 has no Hasselblad branding at all, so if you liked the 13's colour science, that is a reason to stay.

On the OnePlus 15 vs 13 camera question, Bandicoot Lab's results split by lens:

  • Main camera: the 15 pulled more detail in bright light; the 13 was more consistent across lighting.
  • Telephoto: a decisive win for the 13, which Bandicoot Lab put down to its larger 1/1.95-inch sensor.
  • Ultrawide: the 15 held detail with almost no drop-off in dim light.
  • Front camera: the 15 resolved more detail, mainly in bright conditions.

Video is where the 15 moves ahead. It records 4K at up to 120fps with Dolby Vision; the 13 tops out at 4K 60fps. Both manage 8K at 30fps. If you shoot slow motion or edit video, the 15 is the tool. For photos, and zoom photos in particular, the 13 is the stronger camera.

Battery and charging: how much the 7300mAh cell changes daily use

This is the OnePlus 15's strongest argument. Its 7,300mAh silicon-carbon cell is about 22 percent larger than the 13's 6,000mAh, and the measured gap is bigger than that.

  • Video playback: Bandicoot Lab measured 46.1 hours on the 15 and 29.4 hours on the 13.
  • Five-hour web test: the 15 used 16 percent of its charge, the 13 used 24 percent.
  • Gaming stress test: 23 percent drained on the 15, 34 percent on the 13.
  • 91mobiles' battery figures: 17h 06m for the 15 against 11h 24m for the 13 in its comparison.

Charging is closer than the wattage suggests. The 15 supports 120W wired against 100W on the 13, and both take 50W wireless and 10W reverse wireless. In Bandicoot Lab's test, the 15 reached 88 percent after 30 minutes on the cable and the 13 reached 91 percent. Because the 15's cell is larger, its 88 percent holds roughly 6,400mAh against about 5,500mAh on the 13, so the 15 still banks more charge in the same half hour. The 15 also adds bypass charging, which powers the phone directly from the charger during long gaming sessions.

If your OnePlus 13 already lasts the day, the OnePlus 15 is ₹85,999 spent fixing a problem you do not have.

Performance and heat: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 vs Snapdragon 8 Elite

The OnePlus 15 runs Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with an Adreno 840 GPU and UFS 4.1 storage. The OnePlus 13 has the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Adreno 830 and UFS 4.0. Bandicoot Lab's Geekbench 6 runs put the 15 at 3,606 single-core and 11,442 multi-core, against 2,993 and 9,362 for the 13.

Heat evens things out more than those scores suggest. Bandicoot Lab found both phones throttle their GPU by about a third under sustained load, so neither holds its peak through a long session. None of the tests we found was run in Indian summer heat, and we have not run one ourselves. The Snapdragon 8 Elite in the 13 was Qualcomm's flagship chip before the Gen 5 arrived; nothing in the published results suggests the 13 is slow today, only that the 15 is quicker.

Software support and how long each phone will last

The OnePlus 13 launched with Android 15 and OxygenOS 15; the OnePlus 15 launched with Android 16 and OxygenOS 16. For the 13, OnePlus told Droid Life its policy covers Android updates through Android 19, plus six years of security patches. BGR reported in September 2026 that the OnePlus 15 is due updates up to Android 20, with security patches running into late 2031.

That gives the 15 one more major Android version. TrustedReviews lists five years of security updates for the 13 rather than six, so treat the exact patch end date as approximate. For a phone you plan to keep four years or more, the 15's extra year of runway counts. For a two-to-three-year owner, it barely matters.

Both phones are rated IP68 and IP69 for dust and water, with the 15 listed at IP69K, so monsoon use is covered on either.

Already own a OnePlus 13? Who should upgrade and who should hold

Hold if your battery gets you to bedtime, you shoot a lot of 3x zoom, or you value the sharper, more accurate display. You would give up the better telephoto and the Hasselblad colour tuning to gain battery and speed you may not need.

Upgrade if you regularly finish the day below a comfortable charge, you play long gaming sessions where the 165Hz panel, bypass charging and faster chip all help, or you want 4K 120fps video. Battery is the one area where the measured difference is large enough to change how you use the phone.

At ₹85,999, the upgrade is also more expensive than it was at launch. Waiting for a sale is reasonable, since the 13 you already have is not lacking anything essential.

Buying new today: OnePlus 15, a third-party OnePlus 13, or the 13s instead

The OnePlus 15 at ₹85,999 on Amazon.in is the pick for heavy users who want the longest battery, the fastest chip and the longest software runway, and who can live with a less sharp screen.

The OnePlus 13 at ₹57,994 at Croma is the pick for photographers on a budget, as long as you accept how it is sold. It is still available new in India, but mostly through third-party sellers; the Flipkart seller we saw was rated 3.4 stars. Check the seller rating, ask for a GST invoice, and confirm the warranty terms before you pay.

The OnePlus 13s at ₹54,999 on Amazon.in is the pick if you want a smaller phone. It is a different model: the same Snapdragon 8 Elite in a 6.32-inch, 185g body, with a 5,850mAh battery, 80W wired charging and a 50MP main camera paired with a 2x telephoto, per GSMArena. You lose the 13's bigger screen and 3x zoom.

One more option: on 30 September, Amazon.in listed the OnePlus 15R Ace Edition (12GB+256GB) at ₹59,999. Its listing names a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, a 7,400mAh battery and a 165Hz display, so it is the phone to look at if you want the 15's battery-first approach at roughly the 13's price. A OnePlus 16 is reported to land in China on 12 October 2026, and its India launch is not confirmed. One tipster report says it may skip India altogether, while OnePlus says India remains a priority market. If you want the newest thing, that is the date to watch.

Our recommendation by budget: under ₹60,000, buy the OnePlus 13 if you can find a seller you trust, or the 13s if you prefer a compact phone. With ₹86,000 to spend and battery as your priority, the OnePlus 15 is the one to buy. Nerdspec may earn a commission from store links on this page; that does not change the verdict.

Frequently asked

Is the OnePlus 15 worth upgrading to from the OnePlus 13?

Only if battery life or long gaming sessions are your problem: Bandicoot Lab measured 46.1 hours of video playback on the 15 against 29.4 on the 13. Otherwise hold, because the 13 keeps the sharper display and better telephoto, and the upgrade costs ₹85,999 on Amazon.in (30 September 2026).

Which is better, OnePlus 15 or OnePlus 13?

The OnePlus 15 is the better phone for battery, speed and software support. The OnePlus 13 is the better buy for camera and display at ₹57,994 on Croma from a third-party seller (30 September 2026).

Is the OnePlus 15 camera better than the OnePlus 13 camera?

Not across the board. Bandicoot Lab found the 13's larger telephoto clearly better and its main camera more consistent, while the 15 did better on the ultrawide in dim light and on the front camera, and it records 4K at 120fps.

Why does the OnePlus 15 have a lower-resolution display than the OnePlus 13?

OnePlus has not published a reason that we could find. The trade is a 1272 x 2772 panel at up to 165Hz on the 15 against 1440 x 3168 at 120Hz on the 13, and Bandicoot Lab measured the 15 brighter in HDR (1,958 vs 1,638 nits).

How much longer does the OnePlus 15 battery last than the OnePlus 13?

Bandicoot Lab measured 46.1 hours of video playback on the 15 against 29.4 hours on the 13, about 57 percent longer. 91mobiles lists 17h 06m against 11h 24m in its battery comparison.

Is the OnePlus 13 still available to buy new in India?

Yes, mostly from third-party sellers. On 30 September 2026 Croma listed it new at ₹57,994 (12GB+256GB, MRP ₹72,999) from a third-party seller, with availability varying by pincode.

What is the price of the OnePlus 15 in India?

₹85,999 for the 12GB+256GB model on Amazon.in on 30 September 2026. It launched at ₹72,999 and has had two price increases since.

Should I buy the OnePlus 13s instead of the OnePlus 13?

Buy the 13s if you want a smaller phone: ₹54,999 on Amazon.in (30 September 2026) gets the same Snapdragon 8 Elite in a 6.32-inch, 185g body. You give up battery (5,850mAh against 6,000mAh) and the 3x telephoto.
